This course contains a discussion of the evidence confirming a critical speed yaw maneuver, with an emphasis on measuring techniques. Included are comments on speed calculations, sensitivity of the calculations to measurement uncertainty, and faux attacks on the methodology and the evidence itself. Also included is discussion on kinetic energy and the principle of conservation of energy, with an overview of damage analysis, crush profile measurement, etc.

This course is designed to assist officers who respond to vehicle crashes and/or investigate vehicle crashes.

The course is approved by the State of Missouri for four (4) hours in the area of Technical Studies.
