Death Investigation Online Academy is a Nationally Approved online training designed to teach all aspects of death investigation and scene management. Unlike any other training today,  this course offers a blended learning style combining online self-paced video,  along with opportunities of live interaction with instructors several times throughout the program.

MLDI Online is a six week guided course with certified instructors. However, at the end of the six weeks, you still have access to all videos, downloadable material. You can return to the online school anytime to finish up the courses or as a refresher in certain topic areas.

Taught by skilled instructors working the field of criminal investigations, this course will provide advanced training in the skills required to properly investigate a death. The format will develop confidence in the investigator and hone valuable skills. After completing this course the investigator will have the ability to better; understand the legal restriction of search and seizure, document a scene, locate and collect evidence, properly distinguish differing manners of death, better understand wound and injury interpretation, collect body fluids for toxicology testing, understand the dynamics of a child death, conduct witness interviews, and properly complete reports and prepare for courtroom testimony.

Included in this course will be several post-mortem examination photographs and video segments – as well as injury, death, and homicide scenes through photos and videos of actual cases. This course is very graphic and intense.

FAQ’s

How long do I have access to the course?

You will have access to the course for at least six months. After one year it is not guaranteed the course will be available. This, however, does not take into account natural disasters or a major interruption in business.

What if I can’t make the live instructor interaction segments, can I watch them later? 

Yes. Each live interaction training will be recorded and you can watch at any time.

Does this course help me prepare for the ABMDI exam?

Yes, this course will present material helpful in testing preparations. Keep in mind that ABMDI is independent and has its own regulations for testing and qualifying for the exam opportunity.  However, this course is approved by ABMDI and is written in national standards as set out by ABMDI, which are the areas covered by their exam.

What courses are the instructors live and interactive in?

This course is designed in such a way that one or more instructors will be live on opening day and 3-4 more times throughout the following six weeks.  These are not tied to any particular course or set of courses, but rather at regular intervals during the first six weeks.

Do we get a certificate for each course section or one at the end?

The Coroner School™ course is an all-inclusive course. So, each student will receive a certificate at the end of all coursework.

Does the Coroner School offer anything like student grants or any financial assistance?

No, at this time we do not have any financial assistance available.

Do you have a payment plan option?

Yes. We offer a 3-month payment plan option. When you register for the course, you’ll have the ability to choose between paying a one-time fee of $795 or paying three installments of $300. If you choose the payment plan, you will be charged $300 upon registration and then $300 each month for the next two months. When the course opens, you’ll have immediate access to all content after submitting your first payment.
