This course explains the method of estimating speed from tire mark evidence and other frictional speed loss, and the development of each factor in the analysis, including measurement methods and potential attacks on the evidence.  The general equation is presented, and then each aspect of the evidence needed to use the equation is discussed, including an extensive presentation on measuring the drag factor and determining skid distance, and a discussion of the concept of brake efficiency and how it applies to motorcycle crashes and other situations.   Also included are numerous examples of potential challenges on the evidence, with the necessary background for defending the evidence against unfair attacks at trial.
