I am a Major Crimes Homicide Detective who has worked as an internal and criminal investigator, a Forensics Field Evidence Technician with domestic and international training and experience. I have served 21 years as a Navy Hospital Corpsman assigned to numerous detachments with the Fleet Marine Forces, Special Boat Units and the USS Nimitz CVN 68 to name a few. I have been a sworn Police Officer since 2006; assignments included the Criminal Investigative Larceny and Burglary Unit, and the Internal Affairs Unit. I have developed a 40-hour crime scene investigation course for the Portsmouth Police Department that offers techniques for injury documentation, accident photography, latent print lifting, as well as reviews of real crime scene case studies. From the initial arrival at a crime scene to testifying in court, this course offers students the basics of one of the most fascinating job descriptions within the field of Law Enforcement in the 21st Century.
