James Kurkoske
Lt. Kurkoske started his law enforcement career with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1989. In 1990 he lateral transferred to the Rialto Police Department where he has proudly worked for the past 24 years.
Lt. Kurkoske currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute class 203, POST Management school, and has attended many command level tactical training seminars related to police tactics and crisis management.
Lt. Kurkoske has held a variety of assignments within the police department to include; Helicopter Observer, SCAT, Detectives, K-9, Field Training Officer(FTO), and SWAT. As a sergeant, Lt. Kurkoske supervised Patrol, was the FTO Coordinator, oversaw the Traffic Division, SWAT, and worked on the Central Valley Narcotics team. Lt. Kurkoske is also a member of several professional orgs.
