Elizabeth Lorenzana

My name is Elizabeth Lorenzana and I am a Houston Police Lieutenant preparing for the Captain Assessment Center. I have been with the Houston Police Dept for 19 years. I spent the first six years of my career in a patrol division serving as a beat officer and later in a Divisional Tact/Gang Unit. I promoted out of this unit and was assigned as a patrol sergeant to the special operations division. I then transferred to the Homicide Division were I served as an investigator in the murder squad and then the sex crimes unit for four years. I was chosen for a position within one of our department’s command offices and accepted the position to develop my administrative skills. I then served three years in the Internal Affairs Division, in both the administrative unit and investigations. I promoted to the rank of Lieutenant two and half years ago. I immediately applied for a position within one of the largest patrol divisions and lead an administrative unit and later a tactical unit.
