Valerie williams

Valerie Williams began her law enforcement career in 1988 as a Patrol office, DARE Officer, and then a Detective for the Sumter City Police Department. In 1997, she began working for the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) as a field agent in the Pee Dee Region. She worked for SLED in the Community Relations Unit, Special Victims Unit and the Behavioral Science/Cold Case Unit. She was also assigned to conduct forensic interviews in regional child advocacy centers. Valerie was appointed to represent SLED on the several boards including: The South Carolina Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (SCPSAC), The South Carolina Children’s Justice Act Task Force, The Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification system (SAVIN) Board, and the Law Enforcement Victim Advocates Association (LEVA). Valerie retired from SLED on December 31, 2012 and joined the SC Office of the Attorney General where she continues to work as a Special Investigator in Prosecution/Grand Jury.
